What is a roaming band?
A roaming band, equally known as a strolling band, is an unplugged and therefore mobile group.
The musicians are free to mingle amongst the spectators making use of all the space to offer a personalised and interactive performance.
They sing without microphones.
How long do you play for?
We generally propose 3 sets of 30 minutes each, with the possibility of spreading them out between the key stages of the event.
For larger scale or premium events, a 4 x 30 minutes or 3 x 40 minutes option is also available.
What type of music do you play?
Our repertoire consists of a wide variety of songs, in different languages and in all styles.
We know that every audience is unique, so we improvise so as to adapt to each and every one of you.
Of course, you can choose specific titles from our setlist that you wish to hear but once the party starts, we advise you to leave it up to us!
Where are you based?
We live in Nice, France, just like our friends The Peppermints and The Kingsmen.
How far do you travel?
Anywhere and everywhere our music is needed!
What is the volume of a roaming band?
A strolling band has no strong amplification. The concept involves bringing the music directly to the guests, passing between/around the groups or the tables.
It is a close proximity performance loud enough to get over 150 people dancing.
It cannot be compared with the kind of volume produced by a DJ through his speakers, but that is not the objective.
For larger events, it is possible to have the band plug into a sound system with wireless mics or even have them on stage with an amplified setup; guitar and
bass amps, traditional acoustic drumkit etc…
What do you need at the venue?
Very little! The group being acoustic, there is no need for access to a power source.
A hot meal on site is greatly appreciated and will provide us with the fuel needed to give our very best from start to finish.
We would also love to retrieve some digital content from the photographer and videographer.
Do you need to do a soundcheck?
Not if we play roaming. For amplified events, the time necessary for installation/soundchecks is estimated on a case-by-case basis.
What about last-minute bookings?
The band is highly responsive and is always prepared to travel last minute.
